Life is short, spring into action and live today’s beginning
If you have any difficulty in banishing unpleasantness or torturing thoughts, force yourself to read some good, inspiring book—something that will smooth out your wrinkles and put you in a happy mood; something that will make you see the real grandeur and beauty of life

What goes in must come out, no? The surprising thing sometimes is that we have to "force ourselves" to read something positive and uplifting--it's so much easier to turn on the TV and watch some of the violence and crime that's packaged as entertainment. There are plenty of books and movies out there that can make us feel better about life, other people, and ourselves--so why don't we lift ourselves up with them more often?
One of my morning meditations.
I determined to do whatever it took to keep my spirts up. I took God at His word—that He would be with me and take care of me; that He’d go before me and straighten out the crooked places that He’d be my comforter, friend and great physician. Something about that choice had a rush in it for me . And Edge. And excitement. Each day I couldn’t wait to see what would happen

GOOD MORNING !
I mentioned last week that I read a lot and reward my self often with a good book. Rarely will I read anything that isn’t uplifting. I do a lot ofonline reading too. I check out devotions on several different sites each day and as you know, I often pass tidbits of those along to you.
Now I have that new IPOD that my ‘babes’ gave me for my birthday and DS#6 told me how to download free podcasts from itunes. Now instead of our local radio station, I can listen to some very uplifting people too.
They also have audio books you can get. This new toy of mine is going to get a lot of use. I already downloaded all my pictures on it, so should you meet me, I can show you lots and lots of those.
Next I’m going to work on my address book and calendar and get all that info in there so I won’t need to carry my old address book around anymore. Modern technology is keeping me very busy.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Read materials that are generally uplifting and affirming, and read biographies of successful people. You will find that many of them had troubles in life, came from tough situations and still succeeded.
If you have ever thought, “Well, if they can do it, I could too,” then you realize that we can build our confidence by reading about others' stories. Reading and listening to positive materials is about reinforcement, encouragement, and learning. All three of these components are needed for greater confidence.

As fragrant as flowers

Good for you getting an Ipod! You're more modern than I am! I didn't even know what one was until I got my son one. LOL!

I love my ipod...
good for you..I sometimes rent books on tape when I am driving long distance. They are lots of fun to listen to when bored.
I love reading. Happy you have an IPOD
I love my Ipod and my Ipod dock too. I actually keep the dock at work so I can listen to music there in my office. Hubby has an awesome dock at home....I love my Ipod too. So glad you got one. If you ever need a stress reducer or positive thinking module...check out "Meditation Station" - free podcast. Also if you are interested in Mt. Everest expedition....some 80 hours of tape can be seen on the "Rest of Everest" podcast. There was an hour or two show on TV but those wanting to see the entire footage of tape can watch this. I downloaded the first few so if I get stuck waiting somewhere. I also enjoy downloading YouTubes and watching those. Wow, power out for LOTS of folks this morning due to the wind. <watching the news> See ya.

You can get whole books on tape from the library to put on there, I think!
