'THANKFULLY' THURSDAY !

For humans, autumn is a time of harvest,

of gathering together.

For nature, it is a time of sowing,

of scattering abroad.

GOOD MORNING !

I talked with my DD last night and we are all set to go to Amish Country on this coming Monday. Each year in October we try to take a day and travel south and visit all the lovely craft stores in Berlin, Ohio . This is definitely the heart of Amish Country. Last year when we went, it rained, but right now the long range forecast looks Sunny! Not only are there lots of shoppes with crafts, but also baked goods and cheeses. We’ll be visiting the Cheese House at Alpine Alpa and stocking up with lots of goodies. I’m taking a vacation day and she already had the day off.

The prayer group meeting was very enlightening last night. We would do well to follow the example of the critters in our lives. The most important thing they teach us is to live in the present moment.. And did you know that DOG spelled backward is GOD? Just like our animals who can track muddy footprints in our Kitchens, God can change our plans daily and let us know who is in control.

They gave us lots more examples using the lion, the eagle, and the otter as creatures that nurture and work and protect their families. And of course they all love us unconditionally - just like God.  All things we already knew, but never looked at in this way before. For next time we meet, wewere given a disposable camera to take pictures. Then take them in to share . These are to be examples of our lives showing the ‘Making of a believer’ – our next topic to discuss.

I guess we're never to old to learn something new or at least a new way of looking at things.

This is supposed to be our last day of warm weather for awhile as a cold front is coming through tonight ! I’ll be storing up the warm rays today, we won’t have many more for awhile.

***BIG SMILE***

MA

Every sunrise is a present,

a gift from God above,

Gift-wrapped with scarlet ribbons and tied with bows of love.

Each is a new beginning, a time to start anew,

While all the stars are sleeping, and the rose is fresh with dew.

Each day's a new creation, too lovely to ignore,

And we may not find a blessing, just outside our door.

We cannot keep the past, like fireflies in a jar,

Nor journey to the future by wishing on a star.

Every sunrise is a blessing, a gift for just today,

Rejoice, my friend, embrace it before it fades away!

I just love Bible studies...They get me out of the house and they get me out of myself.  Isn't it wonderful how you can look at something so ordinary in a completely different light.  These journals do the same thing....change my point of view about some things.  I'm so thankful for all the j-land journalers.

Have a nice trip next Monday. Take some pics if you can and post them. Would love to see those Amish crafts. Would send you some warm rays of sunshine, but it's gone to sleep under a blanket here.
