I COME TO MEET YOU
I come to MEET YOU GOD,
and as I linger here
I seem to feel YOU very near.
A rustling leaf…a rolling slope…
Speaks to my heart of endless hope
The SUN JUST RISING IN THE SKY
The waking birdlings as they fly
The GRASS ALL WET WITH MORNING DEW
Are telling me I’VE JUST MET YOU !
And gently thus the day is born
And NIGHT gives way to breaking morn
And once again I’ve MET YOU GOD
And worshipped on your HOLY SOD
For WHO CAN SEE THE DAWN BREAK THROUGH
WITHOUT A GLIMPSE OF HEAVEN AND YOU…
For WHO BUT GOD COULD MAKE THE DAY…
And SOFTLY PUT THE NIGHT AWAY.

GOOD MORNING !
It is FINALLY FRIDAY and it’s going to be a great day. Next week is Halloween already. Where did October go too?
Halloween is always the kick off for my rush to get it all done before Christmas . I’ve used this plan for several years now and it always seems to work out.
Here’s the plan in a pumpkin-shell:
Phase 1: Gift Shopping and Wrapping 8 weeks before:
Shop for and wrap 1/3 of your gifts
7 weeks before: Shop for and wrap 2/3 of your gifts
6 weeks before: Finish shopping and wrapping gifts
5 weeks before: Start planning for Thanksgiving
Phase 2: Decorations, Cards, and Mailings
4 weeks before: Put up outdoor decorations and write Christmas cards
3 weeks before: Set up Christmas tree an decorate indoors. Mail cards and gifts
Phase 3 Celebrations, Cooking and Cleaning
2 weeks before: Attend and host parties. Bake and clean
1 week before: Grocery shop for Christmas meals; make final preparations for the big day
Christmas Week: Celebrate Christmas and Enjoy!
New Year’s Day Take down decorations, write thank-you notes, and start the New Year fresh.
8 weeks before Christmas – you guessed it, Halloween! When you use Halloween to trigger your holiday preparations (instead of Thanksgiving), you have plenty of time to get everything done.
I need to be starting soon! Now all I need are some ideas of what to get for my family and I’ll be all set. Seems they aren’t very forthcoming with ideas so I’ll probably wind up using my imagination and then they’ll be stuck with something they really didn’t want.

yes this year Hanukkah is early!!!!!!! like two weeks after thanksgiving so my rush is doubled
I loved "I COME TO MEET YOU". God has given us so much to enjoy our time here! Your holiday plan is a great idea. It seems as though I never get to slow done & really enjoy Christmas. Have a great day.

I like that idea of starting at Halloween! Linda
I really like your plan for the holidays. You are sooooo organized. If I had a lot of people to buy gifts for it would be perfect. But, I pretty much only have a few...maybe 3 people to worry about.
Hope you have a good day.
Pam
I too am organised and always try to plan in advance.Last Christmas,I rang round and found out some shows or good movies and booked the appropriate seats, obviously I knew which day of the week they were able to attend. With others I bought meal vouchers from restaurants. They then put the small additional amount to themselves, if the meal came to a larger amount, and all of them said they were very happy with these as they said,it gave them a push to go out together for a change. This was for friends too, not just married couples.I found it worked better than them getting a present, they may have already had, or not wanted. This year I am going to look up shortly,
some nice afternoon mystery trips or evening ones and book some of them for the spring, wrap up the tickets for them and hope they enjoy, when the time comes around ,something for them to look forward to..In England you can get a nice afternoon trip out or evening mystery trip for X number of pound. There isn't much choice in a gift for the price I pay for these, what people havn't already got. It's the thought that counts anyway not the price ,but I do try to do my best,on pension.LOL!! The children provide a list. So no worries there.I keep telling them it's Santa who is supposed to get the list not Grandma haaaaaaa.I hope you have a lovely day and I hope your repair to the car goes well tomorrow and isn't too costly.Take Care God Bless kath

Your schedule for Christmas made me feel like I was back at work, sorry. This is my fist Christmas off in 16 years and I think I'm just going to take it easy. Have a great Friday, Joni
Happy Friday. Yes...Halloween kicks it off for both of us. I think our plan is similar. I have out of state packages to send so I get that done first. And we do not have Thanksgiving dinner at our house (kinda wish we did). So we put up the tree the Saturday before Thanksgiving. The rest of the saturday's we shop a lot and no time to put up tree. So that works out. I try to get through by mid December so we can enjoy things. I also have my internet orders on my itenerary. I address Christmas cards over the Thanksgiving holidays. So fun to talk about isn't it? Then we have fun the last week or two trying to find that one item that we can't seem to find anywhere. LOL
Beautiful quote... and yes, who can not see God in all the beauty that we can see? Great idea about Christmas... need to check this list out every day. lol Have a wonderful weekend. Janie
I came across this list in my saved emails the other day, lol...
I already bought my christmas cards last year and have been thinking about getting them out and we already started christmas shopping, so we are off to a good start.... and I can't believe halloween is next week, I've been so busy getting ready for it and now it is here....
Have a great weekend!!
Linda :)
Have agood weekend and Ihope the car gets fixed at a price you like lol ...love Jan xx
