Nine lessons we can learn from trees.
#1 It's important to have roots.
#2 In today's complex world, it pays to "branch out."
#3 If you really believe in something, don't be afraid to go out on a limb.
#4 Be flexible so you don't break when a harsh wind blows.
#5 Sometimes you have to shed your old bark in order to grow.
#6 If you want to maintain accurate records, keep a log.
#7 It's okay to be a late bloomer.
#8 Avoid people who would like to cut you down.
#9 As you approach the autumn of your life, you will show your true colors.

The trees here are just starting to change colors. Many are still very green. If I compare my life to those trees, I’m still very green at some things, others have died and fallen from the branch…
No matter what age we are, I think that’s probably true.
The Autumn of Life is a phrase I’ve heard over and over, and I guess I must be in it according to what I’ve read.
Of all the seasons of the year, perhaps there is none so beautiful, so fascinating and so rewarding as the bright, nippy fall. After the heat of summer is past and the forests are mantled in amber and crimson, "God weaves around the weather-beaten brow of the year the golden crown of autumn"! So, too, the Lord has designed old age to be the autumn of life--the gentlest, the tenderest, the most lovely of all the days of sojourn here on earth.
One survey reveled these facts
It was found that the decade of years between sixty and seventy contained 35% of the world's greatest achievements. Between the ages of seventy and eighty, 23% of the achievements fell; and in the years after the eightieth, 6%. In other words, 64% of the great things of the world have been accomplished by those who had passed their sixtieth year, the greatest percentage, 35%, being in the seventh decade.
I can only wonder what this season of ‘Autumn’ may bring…
Today it is going to be much cooler here in Ohio…it’s wear a sweater day for sure ! Only yesterday I had my shorts and sandles on….

The leaf is never so beautiful as when it is fading. In it we have the pledge of a coming spring, and in the dismantling process of human life there lies the promise of immortality beyond which knows no decay. Looked at from the Christian's perspective, gray hairs are the streaks of the dawn of the eternal day.

yes we are to hit forties at night for the first time this season. well sounds like we can expect great things fro m you in your autum years .........
it's suppose to be a little cool here in IL, but then tomorrow is suppose to be warmer again. Fall is such a beautiful time of the year for sure. Have a great day.
We are back up to 92 degrees today... I noticed some of the trees in the neighborhood are starting to change and that I have Iris' blooming in the front yard....
