HAPPY FINALLY FRIDAY

Christmas Break is finally here! DS#2 and family are here and so is winter! Officially winter is here that is, but today it will rain not snow. I guess it’s all out in Denver. They did say we could possible see a flurry on Christmas Day.

HAVE A GREAT DAY !

ANOTHER WONDERFUL ONE ON THE WAY !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders. Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU !

TODAY IS…LOS POSADAS DAY!

It is the annual celebration in Mexico commemorating the search by Mary and Joseph for posada (shelter).

HAPPY LOS POSADAS!

TODAY’S TRIVIA

Today is Santa Claus Clearance Day, the day the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration usually clears Santa Claus for his annual flight. The FAA says Santa’s sleigh is equipped with an in-flight de-icing system for polar routes, a Terrain Avoidance Warning System required for low-altitude flights, and a special seat belt extension for a rotund pilot.

Today is Chipmunks Day, marking the day in 1958 when Alvin, Simon, and Theodore hit #1 with "The Chipmunk Song." All three voices belonged to composer Ross Bagdasarian, recording as David Seville.

Today is Christmas Tree Light Day

Today is National Date-Nut Bread Day

Today is Abilities Day, a time to thank caregivers everywhere who help those with disabilities.

1894: The United States Golf Association was formed in New York City.

1955: The Walt Disney movie "The Littlest Outlaw" opened in movie theaters throughout the U.S.

1956: The Columbus, Ohio zoo reports the first gorilla born in captivity.

Q: Was the carol "Silent Night" first sung accompanied by guitar in the church at Oberndorf, Austria, because: (a) the organist was sick; (b) writer Joseph Mohr preferred the guitar; or (c) mice had gnawed through the organ and ruined it?

A: The organ was unplayable, thanks to the mice.

TODAY’S SMILE

Why Women Would Love Being Santa Claus!

1. You'd never be expected to make the coffee.

2. There'd be no more early morning decisions about what to wear to the office.

3. You could grow a gut the size of Fat Albert's and consider it a job requirement.

 4. One big black belt - accessorized for life!

5. There'd be no reason to have your colors done.

6. Everyone would be extremely nice to you, even if you weren't.

7. Should people suggest your belly jiggled... that is when you giggled... like a bowlful of jelly, you could hit them with your purse.

8. You'd always work in sensible footwear.

9. There'd be no need to play office politics; a hearty 'Ho! Ho! Ho!', would remind everyone who's boss.

10. You wouldn't need an expensive briefcase.

11. No one would dare ask for a ride to work.

12. Never again have to wear pantyhose or worry about your slip showing.

13. No more trips to the vending machine... you'd just snack on milk and cookies all day.

14. You'd never be asked to take an early retirement package.

15. Juggling work and family would be a breeze because your children would adore you; even your teen-agers would want to sit in your lap.

16. You'd be guaranteed the best chair in the office.

17. Age discrimination wouldn't be an issue.

18. You'd never grab the wrong coat on your way out the door.

19. No one would ask to see your job description.

20. Your co-workers would be on notice that they'd better not pout.

TODAY’S WORD

an·a·pest also an·a·paest noun

1. A metrical foot composed of two short syllables followed by one long one, as in the word seventeen.

2. A line of verse using this meter; for example, "'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house" (Clement Clarke Moore).

TODAY’S REFLECTION

A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.

Proverbs 18:16

The gifts that we give have no purpose

Unless God is part of the giving,

And unless we make Christmas a pattern

To be followed in everyday living.

 Helen Steiner Rice

Today share a gift with your feathered, flying friends. The birds will appreciate water, suet, and seed. God made all creatures.

TODAY’S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER’S ALMANAC

89 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
