Chapter 1, page 5
An oldie, but goodie .
Reach out and touch somebody's hand
Make this world a better place if you can.
Reach out and touch somebody's hand
Make this world a better place if you can.
Take a little time out of your busy day
To give encouragement
To someone who's lost the way.
Or would I be talking to a stone
If I asked you to share a problem that's not your own.
We can change things if we start giving
Why don't you reach out and touch somebody's hand.
Make this world a better place if you can.
Reach out and touch somebody's hand
Make this world a better place if you can.
If you see an old friend on the street and he's down
Remember his shoes could fit your feet
Try a little kindness you'll see it's something that comes very naturally.
We can change things if we start giving
Why don't you reach out and touch somebody's hand.
Reach out and touch somebody's hand
Make this world a better place if you can.
Reach out and touch somebody's hand
Make this world a better place if you can
GOOD MORNING !
I heard this song on a TV Christmas special this past year. They had a family gathered for dinner and were singing this song together. It reminded me of my family. We do reach out when we can, to offer support and encouragement and share our love.
When my husband and I first got married we often discussed our hopes and desires and one of the most important things was to make sure our children knew the love of God and the love of family. To me, our home was our little bit of heaven on earth. I can see that love in my children’s and their children’s eyes. That doesn’t mean that everything was always perfect, by no means, but there was and is always love of God and others in our family.
Today, reach out – Touch someone !
And don’t forget to do it with a

To be alone can be a very good thing,
in quietude one might hear ones own heart
or in the quiet hear the voice of God

I remember this song "Reach Out and Touch Somebody's Hand" being sung at one of the Olympics either opening or closing ceremonies years ago but it is still relevant today (even more so). Good reminder.
I think if all parents/married couples put the Lord as a top priority in their relationship and family we would have fewer divorces, etc.
Have a great Thursday!
