BOOK 08, CHAPTER 6, PAGE 24

Relax

It’ll come together

God has everything

Under Control

Be still, and know that I am God…

 Psalm 46:10

Have you ever watched kids on a Merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain as it patters on the ground?

Ever watched a butterfly's soft erratic flight?

Or watched as the setting sun fades into the night?

You'd better slow down and don't dance so fast.

You'll find time too short and the music wont last.

Do you rush through each day on the run, on the fly?

When you ask 'How are you?", do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lay upon your bed,

With the next hundred chores running through your head?

You'd better slow down and don't dance so fast.

You'll find time too short and the music wont last.

Ever told your child,"We'll do that tomorrow"

And in your hurried state, not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch and let old friendships die

Because you never had time to call and say "Hi!"

When you run so fast to get somewhere,

You miss half the fun of just getting there.

When you worry and hurry, all through your day,

It's like and unopened gift--

Just thrown away...

Life's not a race

DO take it slower.

Hear the music

Before the song is over.

GOOD MORNING !

Every morning I start slow and easy with my good cup of coffee and the computer. I give myself an extra half hour just to do that. Sometimes I go a bit over and then have to rush around so I’m off to work on time. But it is worth getting up that half hour early for sure.

Monday brought us more rain showers but the next couple of days are supposed to be sunny. I got home from work and since the rain had stopped decided to do a little clipping on my bushes and vines around the front porch. They tend to grow so fast that if you don’t clip them they take over and outgrow the space they are allotted.

My next door sister got new electric hedge clippers for Mother’s Day and she gracefully let me use them. It sure made quick work of those bushes. After that I had to sit a spell and rest before I could go on with the evening chores. Wastebaskets all had to be emptied, bagged up and hauled out to the curb as rubbish day is today.

Today on my way home from work I need to stop and stock up on some groceries for the camper. It’s the only evening I’ll have time to do it as tomorrow evening I have a hair cut after work. I don’t usually take much food with me, but I’m trying to get a little extra for my son’s and their families that will be arriving at the camper on Saturday evening and then staying for a week. They’ll want other things and will go shopping too, but at least they’ll have a few of the necessities.

It’s always busy around my house for sure, that’s why I so appreciate the weekends.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Have regular hours for work and play;

make each day both useful and pleasant,

and prove that you understand the

worth of time by employing it well.

Then youth will be delightful,

old age will bring few regrets,

and life will become a beautiful success.

Louisa May Alcott

May your summer months be joyous and fun…

And above all, blessed with love,

Ma

I've set alerts finally for your journal instead of going to the "myaol" feeds.  I had only been setting alerts for private journals as that is the only way I could get to read them.  But I am finding I'm not getting to "myaol" these days.  So I should be here more often now.  I hope you get everything done and I know you all will have a blast camping.  Great you were able to use your sister's trimming.  Nice to share.  LOL

It is very busy around my house this week too.  My twins graduation party is this weekend so we are preparing for that.  Hope you have a great day.  Linda

I try so hard to get up early before work, but never seem to manage it.  I jump out of bed and run.  Enjoy your day.

I could never go to work without a cup of coffee. Normally I would get to work on time to sit for 10 or 15 minutes to drink another cup. :-) A nice neighbor is a blessing. The one to the east hates any dog and will shoot them if they by chance chase a rabbit across his property. :-( Hope the rest of the week goes well for you. God Bless, Janie
