Just Cold

CHAPTER 3, PAGE 21

My head feels like an old depot,

worn by time and tears,

No more locomotives passing through,

café filled with tales and baggage,

The old depot's barren now,

there has been a great brain robbery.

Joanne Koenig Coste

GOOD MORNING !

Stress is a funny thing and affects every person a little differently. With me, I just seem to want to sleep … and sorta feel zoned out of things.

I’m upset because of all that is going on with my mom. She seems worse each day and today is her biopsy which is a difficult procedure. I have to go to work, but my sister will be with her. I’ll go to be with them after work. Meanwhile all I can do is pray.

Last night is was down in the 20’s and we may have some snow today. Very winter like here.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Never cut a tree down in the wintertime.

Never make a negative decision in the low time.

Never make your most important decisions

when you are in your worst moods.

Wait.

Be patient.

The storm will pass.

The spring will come.

IT'S SPRING !

CHAPTER 3, PAGE 20

If we try to stand alone,

We are weak and we will fall,

For God is always greatest

When we’re helpless, lost, and small

Helen Steiner Rice

GOOD MORNING!

BRRCHILL ! Spring is here, but it is a cold morning in Northern Ohio. The longer daylight hours are very welcome and we were blessed with a sunny weekend.

Our mama robin is back in her nest on the front porch peak. She has been coming here for several years and makes a lot of noise when we go out on the porch. I guess it’s a good thing it’s not warm enough to sit in the porch swing. She pretty much has the place to herself for now.

Back to work today ! A brand new week !

THOUGHT FOR TODAY

If you have no joy in your religion, there's a leak in your Christianity somewhere.

SUDDENLY SUNDAY

CHAPTER 3, PAGE 19

Did you ever realize that people

Are very much like stained glass windows?

When the sun is shining through them

Brightly they glow and sparkle.

But when the sun goes down

And it is dark and gloomy outside,

Their true beauty is revealed

Only if there is light from within.

Author Unknown

Oh, Let It Shine !

R & R should be on the schedule for today, but it’s not. Not the rest and relaxation I long for.  I will, however, get refreshed and renewed for another week when I go to church this morning.  Some how that one hour in church does the trick more than anything else.

I need to catch up on a few things around here after church , then get ready for another work week. I spent Friday night and all day Saturday with the folks. My mom is very weak and stays in bed and sleeps a lot. Her biopsy was rescheduled for this coming Tuesday. Please keep her in your prayers.

The sun was out all day Saturday, but it was still very cold. My dad enjoyed the sun shinning through the window though, he said it was coming in right on him as he sat in his chair and it felt very nice and warm.

I hope to also do a little more painting on my Easter Eggs this afternoon and by next week I hope to be finished with them. We’ll see…

Good Evening !

It’s Friday evening here as I write this,  I’m on my way out to the folks house and won’t be home til tomorrow night so I thought I’d leave a little post for you all. I’ll be home Saturday evening so I’ll be doing my regular journal entry Sunday morning !

I'm wearing the GREEN today

Chapter 3, page 17

May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

The rain fall soft upon your fields,

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Top o' the mornin' to you,

Yesterday morning when I left for work I noticed that the pussy willow tree by the driveway was in bloom. I guess that is what you call it when those little fuzzy things come on the branches. It’s a sure sign Spring is on the way !

According to the weatherman we missed out on our winter storm and are going to be blessed with a partially clear day ! Still on the cold side here but a little brighter and greener each day.

Thought for today:

As you slide down the banister of life, May the splinters never point in the wrong direction

I love these Irish Blessings and have enjoyed posting them. My mom says that we are 1/7 Irish . I also have Hungarian, English, German, Dutch, French and American Indian blood. Today though, I’m wearing my green and carrying my green March purse and have a loaf of Irish Soda Bread to celebrate with later.

May you always find Blue skies above your head,

Shamrocks beneath your feet,

Laughter and joy aplenty

And kindness from all you meet

ANOTHER COLD DAY IN OHIO

CHAPTER 3, PAGE 16

Always remember to forget

The things that made you sad.

But never forget to remember

The things that made you glad.

Always remember to forget

The friends that proved untrue.

But never forget to remember

Those that have stuck by you.

Always remember to forget

The troubles that passed away.

But never forget to remember

The blessings that come each day

GOOD MORNING !

On my way to work yesterday morning the sky was partly cloudy and I was able to watch the huge full moon set in the West. It was beautiful and was a little blessing to start my day.

The March winds have really been blowing here. It seems they never quit. Going west you drive against them but coming east they blow you along.

On my list for Lent:

Give up giving up——hang in there

Oh, I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve almost given up on someone or something…but things always seem to work out if I just hang in there. I have learned to turn those impossible things over to the good Lord and let Him take care of them… He does a much better job than I ever could.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY

You're not obligated to win. You're obligated to keep trying to do the best you can every day

Marian Wright Edelman

May you always have work for your hands to do.

May your pockets hold always a coin or two.

May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.

May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.

May the hand of a friend always be near you.

And may God fill your heart

with gladness to cheer you –Irish Blessing

OVER THE HUMP DAY !

CHAPTER 3, PAGE 15

The news is out....

It's time to sing.....

Time to be happy and

WELCOME

The Ides of March

we should not fear

Because we know that spring is near.

In like a lion......out like a lamb.

Old Man Winter.........we say

"Scram".

The streams are full from the melted snow.

Soon will be time to plant and to hoe.

The birds are chirping high in the tree.

Spring is arriving.....that we can see.

Flowers rising from their wintry beds

Crocus and tulips raising their heads.

Bunnies hopping around in the clover.

At long last..........Winter is Over.

Author Unknown

GOOD MORNING !

Finally a good nights sleep. Maybe I’ll be a little more with it today. Yesterday, I functioned at only about ½ the rate I should have.

I think that the hardest part of anything is the unknown. We now know what is wrong with my Mom and what may have caused the dizziness that led to her fall when she broke her ribs. The CAT scan revealed a tumor. She’ll be having a biopsy next Monday. So far she’s doing ok with this news and we can only pray that she continues to do well.

On my list for Lent:

Give up sin——turn to virtue

I’ll be the first to admit I’m a sinner. I can confess to many faults. The good news is our dear Lord loves us anyway ! Virtue is the quality of being morally good or righteous – something I can only strive for.

Thought for today

You've gotta have hope.

Without hope life is meaningless.

Without hope life is meaning less and less.

Author Unknown

May you alway walk in sunshine.

May you never want for more.

May Irish angels rest their wings

right beside your door
