Stop saving the good china for that special occasion.
Stop withholding your love until that special person materializes.

GOOD MORNING !
If you are like me and are on line today that means we both received a GIFT -- We both have another day to rise and shine and make the very most of what we can with the gift we ‘ve been given.
It may be cloudy and dark and supposed to get quite icy out here, but in my heart the sun is shinning. I’ve got nothing but good things to be thankful for today.
As you can see by the photos I put in my post this morning I had a delightful day yesterday and yes, that sun did peep through for an hour or so!
Hopefully the roads won’t be ice covered by the time I leave for church today and I’ll make it from the car into church without slipping.
Our weather report isn’t looking real great all week long. Winter is still officially a few days off, but the weather doesn’t seem to know that.
The good Lord willin’ I’ll make it into that church this morning and as always I’ll be praying for all of you . There are lots to be praying for this time of year. Let us not forget those far from home serving their country in the armed forces. This special time of year makes it really hard on them being away from home and loved ones.
Take good care All !
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
This is the season of peace, joy and love; but why do we need a season for these feelings? Why can't every day be filled with this peace, joy and love?
The gift I give to you is the gift of love; for with this love you find peace and joy! Love is the foundation of all things
Finally Loving Yourself is the pitcher that keeps filling up your cup. Love is not just a noun it is an action word. In order for you to feel love, you have to do things that turn the action into that feeling.
I wish the whole world could know this love. If everyone filled their heart with this love there would be no wars, meanness or angry words.
We would all live in peace with one another and find joy in the simple things of life. No one would be judging the next person and saying my religion is better than yours, there would be no terrorism or fighting; we would be living in peace and joy, by virtue of the love we have inside of us.
I believe that this is what God had in mind in the first place. There is only one who is perfect and this is God. When we strive for perfection we are in a sense attempting to be God-like. God loves us with all of our imperfection. His love will not change.
Don't allow the holiday truce to disappear after the celebration turns into a New Year! Let your love shine LOve is contagious! When the love is on inside it can't help but come out and bless the world.
May you have a blessed day! May your love shine!
I read and treasured this e-mail from a very dear Lady last year at Christmas time.…
May the season's simple joys

There are treasures in life, but owners are few
Of money and power to buy things brand new.
Yet you can be wealthy and feel regal too,
If you will just look for the treasures in you.
These treasures in life are not hard to find
When you look in your heart, your soul, and your mind.
For when you are willing to share what's within,
Your fervent search for riches will end.
The joy and the laughter, the smile that you bring;
The heart unafraid to love and to sing;
The hand always willing to help those in need;
Ones quick to reach out, to labor and feed.
So thank you for sharing these great gifts inside;
The caring, the cheering, the hug when one cried.
Thanks for the energy, encouragement too,
And thank you for sharing the treasures in you.

GOOD MORNING
Truth is, the best gifts of all are not meant to be kept or even possessed;they are intended to be given a way ... to be passed on from person to person One thing is for sure: the gifts we receive from God are all meant to be given.
They are not ours to keep, they must be shared: they must be kept in circulation to bless others. What gifts has God given you that need to be shared -- things like grace, forgiveness, second-chances, love, stuff, time, attention, tenderness, patience, and talent?
You've been given a lot, so doesn't that mean you have a lot to give? Get creative and turn loose of what you "own" and find the greater grace in giving.
From one of my daily devotions
I’ve found so many things in my search on the theme of GIFTS that I have been a little amazed at the subject matter available!
If you’ve read my journal for awhile you know that one of my most precious gifts is my family. Today I’m off to visit DS#5 and his darlin’ wife. They just moved in to their first home and are going to be showing it off to us today.
DD and her hubby are taking me there for a visit. It’s one of those trips that takes awhile and I don’t like to go that far by my self. I did a mapquest search to get directions, hopefully we won’t get lost. It’s not too far from where they had their apartment and I’d been there several times .
So I’ll be taking a little break from the wrapping today and hopefully will get lots done tomorrow.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The greatest gift we can give one another is rapt attention to one another's existence.

I said a Christmas Prayer for you
Because the season's near.
I didn't ask for riches
But for gifts so much more dear.
I asked for joyful gatherings
With your family all round,
And for carols to inspire you
With their old familiar sound.
I asked for quiet moments
In your heart on Christmas morn,
For a special time to celebrate
The Savior who was born.
I asked for friends to send their best
That you might know they care;
I asked for peace and love and hope,
And I know God heard my prayer.

GOOD MORNING !
It is FRIDAY! What a glorious day ! I’m doing the HAPPY dance and celebrating the end of another work week. I celebrate because I’m so glad I made it though another one.
There are days I think I should call in sick or days that I think I should retire, but somehow, with the Good Lords help I muddle though week after week and I am so thankful for it.
It will be another weekend full of wrapping up all those gifts I’ve got for my family and finishing up the cards that need to get in the mail. I’m not even going to worry about the House Blessing, because I can do that when the rest is finished. I’ve got to set my priorities and stick to them.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life is not easy for any of us.
But what of that?
We must have perseverance and above all
confidence in ourselves.
We must believe that we are gifted
for something and that this thing must be attained.

A St. Nicholas’ Note
Edward Hays, A Pilgrim’s Almanac (adapted)
"It is fitting that the feast of St. Nicholas comes at the beginning of Advent and the beginning of the shopper’s season. As the patron saint of shoppers he proclaims, ‘Keep it simple!’
Keep it simple enough to fit in a shoe or a stocking. "One gift that could fit in a…shoe, or in a stocking hanging on the fireplace, is a note that speaks of one of our most precious gifts, the gift of time.
Such a St. Nicholas note might read: ‘The gift I give to you is half an hour of quality conversation each night right after the dishes are done.’ Or, ‘The gift I give to you is one Saturday a month to be with you and do whatever you want to do.’
We can appreciate the value of such a gift if we keep in mind that according to a recent survey, the average married couple in America has only 30 minutes a week of communication outside of exchanges that take place at the dinner table, and between parent and child is only 14 minutes.
As you can see, the possibilities are almost unlimited for these St. Nicholas shoe gifts.
"Come, St. Nicholas, patron of shoppers and gift-seekers, and make Christmas this year fun, creative and love-filled."
GOOD MORNING
AND HAPPY ST. NICK’S DAY!
Well some of you may not believe in that dear old man, but I forone do BELIEVE. The spirit of generosity and love are certainly a part of who he is…and probably the feelings of joy and happiness are pieced into that too !
I always told my children that as long as those qualities still lived in their hearts SANTA would live too . Of course we celebrate Christmas with gifts left under the tree from Santa on Christmas Day, but St. Nick’s Day is like a little mini celebration.

At times I'm so discouraged
with problems of the day
I fail to see the joyful things
that are along the way
When troubles overwhelm me
It's then my nerves may fray
that's when I need to take the time
To simply sit and pray
Reflecting on God's many gifts
It makes me so aware
Of all the joy in little
things around me everywhere!
I must try to remember
though problems come my way
not to miss the joyful things
and the beauty of the day.

GOOD MORNING !
Driving east on my way home from work yesterday I had the sun at my back and nothing but black snow clouds directly in front of me. It made a very beautiful sight. A flock of seagulls were in the sky and were glittering away like twinkling stars as their white wings reflected the sunshine.
That was definitely a GIFT to see. We get seagulls in land here as they like to see what the farmer’s fields might have to offer in the way of food. As far as I know they don’t migrate south like a lot of birds do and stay here year round. I’ve often seen them huddled together on the black top of a parking lot on a winter’s day.
We are supposed to get a little more snow today than we’ve had so far this week. However they say southern Ohio will get more than we will. That is unusal, but it just depends on which way the wind blows.
It’s Wednesday ! ‘Over the Hump Day ‘ Now we are on the down hill slide into the weekend. Hopefully the little bit of snow we get won’t make sliding an issue on the roads today.

Love is a gift.
You can't buy it,
you can't find it,
someone has to give it to you.
Learn to be receptive of that gift.

GOOD MORNING !
There have been times in my life that I’ve been so filled with love that I thought my heart would burst, and there have been times that I’ve not been able to find love anywhere and I thought my heart was broken.
It is a precious gift for sure.
I also found out that just when my heart was broken in so many pieces that I thought it would never mend, Love appeared out of nowhere and blessed me with healing and I felt that old heart start to beat again.
Winter continues on here in Northern Ohio. We could get a little more snow today and it is only 28 degrees here this morning. At least the wind has quieted down.
My good cup of hot coffee tastes extra good these cold mornings.
