OVER THE HUMP DAY !

 BRIGHTEN UP YOUR DAY !

BRIGHTEN UP YOUR DAY!

God is crazy about you.

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.

He sends you flowers every spring.

He sends you a sunrise every morning.

Whenever you want to talk, He listens.

He can live anywhere in the universe, yet He chooses your heart.

Face it, friend - He is crazy about you!

Even when it seems everyone else is against us and things aren't going quite right  - we can always know that our Lord is there for us!

GOOD MORNING !

Middle of the week already.

Son #2 and family had to move to another place as they lost power where they were at.  The roads are still blocked to their home and they can't get through to anyone in their hometown...so they are still waiting ! DS#2 has to return to work as he is a CB (Construction Batallion) and will be able to help with clean up and may have to leave the family behind. They have found out that my grandson's school is under water - so schools out for him. Still no word on their home.    Phone lines and cell phone towers are down all over the place.   I know this has been a long week for them.  Please keep them in your prayers.

Waiting is not easy.

We got the rain from Katrina Tuesday afternoon and it's supposed to clear out of here later today.  None too soon!

Blessings to you all today !

THOUGHTFUL TUESDAY

HOW TO BE SAFE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE

Avoid riding in Automobiles. They are responsible for 20% of all deaths.

Do not stay at home! 17% of all accidents occur at home.

Avoid walking on streets and sidewalks because 14% of all accidents are suffered by pedestrians.

Don't travel by air, rail, or water, because 16% of all accidents occur on these forms of transportation.

You will be pleased to learn that only .001% of all accidents occur in worship services! And these are usually related to previously known physical disorders.

Therefore, logic tells us that the safest place in the world for you to be at any time is at church!

Bible study is safe too. The percentage of Accidents that occur during Bible Study is nearly Zero!

For Safety's Sake - Attend Church and read your Bible, it could save your life!

Oh, and another thing, Don't Drive faster that Your Guardian Angle can fly

author unknown to me

Don't we all try to do the 'safest', best for me things??

Sometimes we forget the real meaning of this merry go round life we lead.  Busy days of caring, working and playing.

GOOD MORNING !

I found the little item above way before anyone thought about keeping safe from Hurricane Katrina. But it seems to fit in right now.  We are praying for the safety of all those trying to pick up the pieces right now.  They say there is a lot of danger for anyone in that area after the storm.  We just have to trust that the Good Lord is watching over all of them!

Son#2 and family are all safe - still at the friends house that they evacuated to.  They can't go home until the roads open up and the all clear is given.

Take good care all !

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DS #1

  Happy Birth-day...

Happy birthday,
And of course to you,
Todays the day,
No matter what you say,
Or even do,
Its the day of your birth,
And when you come first,
Its your special day,
And I'm gladly here to say,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
And welcome to a new day!!!

 GOOD MORNING !

It's my DS#1's birthday today !  I have wonderful memories of the day he was born!  He is my miracle baby and my 'gift from God'.  He was born a 'premie' 2 months early!  and now as you can see --- is far from small!     Have a great day DS#1!    Monday's are usually pretty hard to take, but this one is a day of 'celebration'!

My DS#2 and family have evacuated their home and are staying with friends in a safe place.  Please pray for all those in the path of this terrible hurricane. I'm also praying he has a home to go home to.    We never know what a new day will bring, but we do know we can make the best of this moment - now !

    Blessings to you all !

SUDDENLY SUNDAY !

A little story to start your day !

Long ago in a small, far away village, there was place known as the House of 1000 Mirrors. A small, happy little dog learned of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he bounced happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house. He looked through the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his. He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000 great smiles just as warm and friendly. As he left the House, he thought to himself, "This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often."

In this same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the house. He slowly climbed the stairs and hung his head low as he looked into the door. When he saw the 1000 unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled at them and was horrified to see 1000 little dogs growling back at him. As he left, he thought to himself, "That is a horrible place, and I will never go back there again."

All the faces in the world are mirrors. What kind of reflections do you see in the faces of the people you meet? What reflection do others see when they look at you?

GOOD MORNING !

I'm hopeful this morning that our dear Lord calms the storm headed toward the coast of Louisianna, Mississippi and Alabama this morning.  The weather channel says it's category 5 - bout as bad as it can get.  They are showing lots of pictures of the evacuation of those heading out of town...as you know, I have somechildren  down south and I'm praying for them and all those in peril this morning.

Sunday is the day to bless our spirits once more...so I'm off to church to get refeshed and renewed for the new week.  I hope you all are able to do that too!

Lots of prayers today !

Take good care all !

ANOTHER SUPER SATURDAY

IT ONLY TAKES ONE !

One song can spark a moment
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room.
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true.
One life can make the difference,
You see, it's up to YOU!

Don't ever forget how
Very important YOU are!

GOOD MORNING !

I slept in til 8 this morning - heavenly !  Now I'm sipping my 1st cup of goooood coffee.  I had planned on trying to give my lawnmower a tune up today, but it's very overcast so I don't know if I'll get out to do that or not - no matter...there's lot's to do inside.

I've now got 3 - 5 year old grand'babes'  in Kindergarten.  Our Princess called last night to tell me how much she loved school!  She wants to go everyday, but now we have 2 days off.  I hope she keeps that enthusiam for learning !

My Sunshine Babes and now my Mississippi Babes are having a little interruption going on in their lives with Katrinia blasting through...Please pray for all those in peril from this hurricane.

IT'S FINALLY FRIDAY !

HERE'S SOME BEAUTY TIPS TO START YOUR DAY !

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For beautiful eyes, seek out the good in other people.

To lose weight, let go of stress and the need to control others.

To improve your ears, listen to the word of God.

Touch someone with your love.

Rather than focus on the thorns of life, smell the roses and
count your blessings.

For poise, walk with knowledge and self-esteem.

To strengthen your arms, hug at least 3 people a day.

To strengthen your heart, forgive yourself and others.

Don't worry and hurry so much. Rather walk this earth lightly
and yet leave your mark

GOOD MORNING !

HAPPY FINALLY FRIDAY !

Here it is ...the day we've been working for all week...pay day!

We all have to have the $$$ in order to live and so we work, but did you ever think about what it would be like if we didn't work???

Whether it's house work or office work or ...any kind of work - we'd probably get tired of playing all the time !

And there are those out of work - searching for a job

So if you're off to work today - be thankful and say a little prayer for those who aren't .

Have a grand day !  Tomorrow is Saturday!

'Thankfully' Thursday

Many times we fail to see
the blessings in our lives...
we're so caught up in "living"
we forget to realize,

that all our days are numbered
and each moment is a loan...
we can't relive it's contents
and the outcome is unknown.

Only God can grant us
one minute or the next...
it's ours to live it wisely
and ours to do our best.

Remember to be thankful
for the gift of time today...
and when this day is over,
no regrets will come your way

GOOD MORNING !

Another very cool morning!  It will  warm up into the 80's here today ! But cool this morning! It's been almost perfect weather! What a blessing!

I'm wishing you a day that's filled with Sunshine

and hopefully lots of fun!

OVER THE HUMP DAY!

Come live in our garden

 Come live in our garden

 and know the good life

 We bask in the sunlight

 and survive any strife

Our arms reach up to the heavens

our faces are kissed by the sun

We bloom seperate amoung us

but in God we are one.

We're all sunflowers and roses

of remarkable height

Growing steadfast and strong

in the direction of His light.

 GOOD MORNING !

I was up way too late last night and slowly sipping that good coffee this morning !  Busy day at work and one of my friends invited me to dinner this evening.  I've got to try to get in earlier .

I found the little article below on encouragement and wanted to share it with you this morning ...

      The dictionar

y The dictionary defines the verb ENCOURAGE as to give confidence, support, persuade, promote, influence, convince and to plead with.  So when one practices these, then that person would be considered an "encourager".

In life, when problems or situations spring up, everyone without an exception, needs someone possessing these traits or characteristics to come forth and offer them.  This can be on a temporary or permanent basis.  Whether it be a relative, friend, neighbor, boss or individual that recognizes the need and tries to meet it.

When the "encourager"  comes along with words of hope and cheer etc., the feelings of despair and desperation dissapates and takes flight and thus once more the rescued individual can look forward to better things and anticipate improvement in their circumstances.  Life has taught us that everyone not only needs an "encourager: but they themselves can be an "encourager" to someone in situations that they encounter.

Have a Happy Day !  Don't forget to encourage someone!!!

NICE COOL MORNING HERE

We sometimes look at other folks
who seem to have it all...
presuming they are "doubly blessed"
while our own gifts are small.

Yet, we just see a portion
of the life that God has planned...
for He, alone, decides our fate;
our future's in His hands.

God gives us each a purpose
(as He does ALL living things)...
He clothes the flowers in the fields
and wills the birds to sing.

His love for us is greater
than the wind and earth and sky...
the world is His creation,
but He treasures you and I.

No matter where you've come from
or what you're going through...
your greatest gift will be attained
when you know that gift, is YOU

GOOD MORNING !

Have you noticed that the days are getting shorter?  When I took the dogs out for their final walk at 9 last night it was dark out!

Summer seems to be fading fast.  The calendar says we have almost a month of it left but there's many signs of fall in the air.

Cool morning here, but it promises to be warming up again !

I guess I'll just enjoy the little cool spot we're having - no a/c running is nice!

I hope you have a grand day !

Monday and it is cooler here !

THE 12 STEP PROGRAM TO THE GOOD LIFE   Grenville Kleiser

Live a simple life. Be temperate in your habits. Avoid self-seeking and selfishness. Make simplicity the key-note of your daily plans. Simple things are best.

Spend less than you earn. This may be difficult, but it pays large dividends in contentment. Keep out of debt. Cultivate frugality, prudence and self-denial. Avoid extravagance.

Think constructively. Train yourself to think clearly and accurately. Store your mind with useful thoughts. Stand porter at the door of your mind.

Cultivate a yielding disposition. Resist the common tendency to want things your own way. See the other person's viewpoint.

Be grateful. Begin the day with gratitude for your opportunities and blessings. Be glad for the privilege of life and work.

Rule your moods. Cultivate a mental attitude of peace and good will.

Give generously. There is no greater joy in life than to render happiness to others by means of intelligent giving.

Work with right motives. The highest purpose of your life should be to grow in spiritual grace and power.

Be interested in others. Divert your mind from self-centeredness. In the degree that you give, serve, and help will you experience the by-products of happiness.

Live in a daytight compartment. This means living one day at a time. Concentrate on your immediate task. Make the most of today.

Have a hobby. Nature study, walking, gardening, music, golfing, carpentry, stamp collecting, sketching, voice culture, foreign language, books, photography, social service, public speaking, travel, authorship, are samples. Cultivate an avocation to which you can turn for diversion and relaxation.

Keep close to God. True and enduring happiness depends primarily upon close alliance with Him. It is your privilege to share His thoughts for your spiritual nourishment, and to have constant assurance of divine protection and guidance

    Good Morning !

I really think that Step # 12 should have been #1 in the list above, but I didn't write the list - only copied it.  As you know, I share with you all the little poems and quotes I find a long the way that seem to be uplifting or encouraging each day, I only wish I could write like these wonderful people did.

I went to a play yesterday afternoon that my DS#5 was in.  He's been working with our Summer Theatre group as tech director and now also starred in a play.  He's a great supporter of the arts -- teaches art during the school year and does Summer Theatre in the summer.  I just had to share the picture above as it appeared in our local newspaper this week.  They also interviewed him on our local radio station !

DS#6 and his new wife should be home from their honeymoon today !  They'll be going back to work and 'normal' life - we'll see if being married makes any difference.

  Have a great Monday !

This is a day our Lord has made - let us be glad and rejoice in it!!!

SUDDENLY SUNDAY !

It's wond'rous what a
hug can do. A hug can
cheer you when you're blue. A
hug can say, "I love you so"
or, "Gee I hate to see you go".
A hug is, "Welcome back again!"
and "Great to see you!" or
"Where've you been?"A hug can
soothe a small child's pain and
bring a rainbow after rain. The
hug! There's just no doubt
about it, we scarcely could
survive without it. No longer
do you have to worry, for a hug
is the way to say "I'm sorry."
A hug delights and warms and charms,
it must be why we all have arms.
Hugs are great for Fathers and
Mothers sweet for Sister, swell
for Brothers. Chances are some
favorite Aunts love them more
than potted plants. Kittens
crave them. Puppies love them.
Heads of State are not above
them.A hug can break the
language barrier and make the
dullest day seem merrier. No
need to fret about the store of
'em. The more you give the more
there are of 'em. So stretch
those arms without delay, and
GIVE SOMEONE A HUG TODAY!

Good Morning !

Happy Sunday to you !  I'm off to church a little earlier  than usual this morning but it still much better than going off to work. I guess weekends wouldn't seem like such a treat if we had them everyday !  I put some cinnamon rolls in the oven and by the time I get done with this post, they should be ready !

I read in the aol journal news that we will have a journal outage tomorrow morning before 4 and 6 a.m. so I guess I'll not try to do an early post, but wait til after I get to work to make one.

The rains Saturday are supposed to clear out the humidity and by Monday we'll be in the low 70's.  Hard to believe...the forcast shows night time temps in the 50's!

It's been a long time since we were that chilly.

Maybe I can open up some windows and turn off the a/c!!!

By the middle of the week though we'll be back up in the 80's.

Take some time to bless your spirit today - we all need that r&r for the soul before we go back to work tomorrow!

I Cannot Pray (the Lord's Prayer)

I cannot say OUR if my religion has no room for others and their needs.

I cannot say FATHER if I do not demonstrate this relationship in my daily
life.

I cannot say WHO ART IN HEAVEN if all my interests and pursuits are in
earthly things.

I cannot say HALLOWED BE THY NAME if I, who am called by his name am not
holy.

I cannot say THY KINGDOM COME if I am unwilling to give up my own
sovereignty and accept the righteous reign of God.

I cannot say THY WILL BE DONE if I am unwilling or resentful of having it in
my life.

I cannot say ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN unless I am truly ready to give
myself to his service here and now.

I cannot say GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD without expending honest
effort for it or by ignoring the genuine needs of my fellow men.

I cannot say FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS
AGAINST
US if I continue to harbor a grudge against anyone.

I cannot say LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION if I deliberately choose to remain
in a situation where I am likely to be tempted.

I cannot say DELIVER US FROM EVIL if I am not prepared to fight in the
spiritual realm with the weapon of prayer.

I cannot say THINE IS THE KINGDOM if I do not give the King the disciplined
obedience of a loyal subject.

I cannot say THINE IS THE POWER if I fear what my neighbors and friends may
say or do.

I cannot say THINE IS THE GLORY if I am seeking my own glory first.

I cannot say FOREVER if I am too anxious about each day's affairs.

I cannot say AMEN unless I honestly say,
Cost what it may, this is my
prayer.
